What a powerful service on Sunday. If you were with us you witnessed the power of the Holy Spirit working through His people. Pastor Jay spoke to us about the life changing truth that, “You Matter to God”. He told us that not matter what we have done or what has happened in our life, we are loved and we matter to God. There is no way that you (or I) can out-sin our value to God.
Pastor Jay told us about two pair of boxing gloves that were auctioned off and someone paid over $385,000 for them. He said it wasn’t because they were amazing gloves and guaranteed to make you a great boxer. The reason they were worth so much was because of who they belonged to. It’s the same for you and I. Our value is because of who we belong to. Jesus values us so much that He gave His life for us.
Not only did we hear a powerful message from Pastor Jay, but Sheryl Dayler then spoke to us and told us a little bit about her story. (for the entire message including Sheryl’s testimony send an e-mail to email@example.com) The bottom line Sheryl told us:
I'm forgiven I am free.
I have everything I need.
I am capable and ready for the call You've given me.
I am treasured, I am loved.
I'm accepted, I belong.
I am beautiful and useful in the Kingdom of God
Because of You, my Jesus
All, because of You.

Pastor Jay continued by letting us know that not only is Sheryl forgiven and free and treasured and loved, but all of us are too. He went on to tell us that we have all been created for a purpose to be used by God to further His kingdom. The Bible tells us that all of us who have accepted Jesus, have been changed and gifted. 1 Corinthians 12:7 says “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” I may not be gifted like Sheryl or like you, but I’m gifted like me for the good of the church. Each one of us has been gifted to make up Shoreland Community Church to be the church God has created her to be. No roles are unimportant. Here is God’s design in 1 Corinthians 12:12-27. When one suffers we all suffer together. When one rejoices we rejoice together. You and I matter to Him and He wants us to matter to each other. He made you and me to be in relationship with Him. We are here to touch lives and use our gifts and spread His love.
You and I are created exactly the way God intended. God will use me to the extent that I will allow Him to use me. He wants to use you and me to bring hope and redemption.
